AURORA BOREALIS

This article is about the beauty of the sky. The clear sky that is difficult to see in a busy city. It was one of the projects for this summer in south of Italy where I spent my summer vacation. I went in a small village called Specchiarica where there is only nature and sea. The sky is clear and I wanted to try my Fujifilm X-E1 with the 28mm F4 Voigtlander lens.

Using the tripod and bulb mode I was able to take the milky way too. F4 and around 30-60 sec with different ISO value here is the result. Not so bad for this camera-lens set!

I also wanted to try to take the same kind of photos from the airplane. Fromm 10000m the sky is clear and no clouds. Going back from Italy to Japan when I was over Siberia it was night so the perfect time for trying to take photos from the airplane.

First problem: I need to stabilize the camera as much as possible but I can’t use a normal tripod and I din’t have with me the Gorilla pod so I started using my camera bag over the window. Also I set the cable remote control and with different ISO and f4 value I started taking different photos. Well it was pretty hard, even harder than I could image but I was surprised by something special…..aurora borealis. Right, the green flare seems to be the aurora borealis. I think the position the airplane was and the right time was perfect and I could take it. Definitely lucky flight!

Well….Enjoy it and Stay Click!!!
